3 Simple Ways to Keep Your Wooden Products Looking Beautiful

Let’s be honest, wooden products like our walnut trays and beer flight boards are beautiful, but they aren’t magic. They need a little love now and then, or they might start looking like a sad, sun bleached old coffee table.

So how do you keep them looking amazing without overthinking it? Here’s what I do, and what you can do too.

1. Wipe it down but don’t drown it

Wood and water are like oil and water, they do not mix well. After you use your tray or paddle, grab a soft, slightly damp cloth and wipe it clean. That is it. No soaking, no dunking in the sink, no dramatic underwater action scene. Just a gentle wipe. Your wood will thank you.

2. Feed it sometimes

Just like you would not go a month without breakfast, your wooden boards need a little food too, in this case, food safe mineral or walnut oil. Rub a bit in once in a while, and your tray will stay nourished, resist cracking, and the grain will pop beautifully. Think of it as a mini spa day for your tray.

3. Keep it cool literally

Wood does not like extreme heat or direct sunlight. That is right, your windowsill filled with rays of sun might be Instagram perfect, but your tray might be plotting revenge. Keep it somewhere cool and dry, and it will stay straight, smooth, and gorgeous.

With just these three tiny habits, your wooden products will stick around for years. They will look good, feel good, and be ready for all the snacks, keys, beer flights, and random bits of life you throw at them.

And yes, that is it. No complicated rules, no weird chemicals, no rituals involving moonlight. Just simple care for something handmade and real.
